Actors and Actresses Who Give Back to Their Community

You may think all Hollywood stars do is sip champagne and bathe in tubs filled with $100 bills, but there are some out there who use their fame for the greater good. In the latest issue of The Hollywood Reporter, the magazine looks at the actors and actresses who are making a difference. Take for instance Kristin Davis, who recently took a trip as an Oxfam International ambassador to Africa, where she visited refugee camps in Kenya. The 46-year-old actress is also a board member of the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, which rescues orphaned elephants. Matthew McConaughey and wife Camile Alves are doing their part by supporting after-school fitness programs through their j.k. livin foundation, along with Hilary Duff, who is the sole supporter of Normandie Avenue Elementary's Blessing in a Backpack nonprofit, which assists low-income families with nonperishable food. Gabrielle Union, Hailee Steinfeld and Sarah Hyland are also among those who are giving back. Now we're sure their are plenty of movie stars who don't help out on the non-profit side. So, the lesson here is only bad mouth the actors who don't contribute. [via THR]
