'Tinker, Tailor' opens Ghent Film Fest
"Mess Tailor Soldier Spy," directed by Sweden's Tomas Alfredson, will open the 38th Ghent Film Festival, which runs March. 11-22.The pic, according to John le Carre's best-selling spy novel, signifies Alfredson's first British-language film and stars Gary Oldman, Colin Firth, John Hurt, Tom Sturdy, Mark Strong, Ciarn Hinds and Toby Johnson. The storyline follows a upon the market spy expert who's rehired to find a Russian spy that has breached British security. The film, which opened at Venice, is placed for release this fall.Other films to screen at Ghent, that will concentrate on Scandinavian cinema, are "Beyond" by Pernilla August, "Frit Fald" by Heidi Maria Faisst and "The Mountain" by Ole Giaever. Additional occasions include "Ingmar Bergman: Truth and Lies" in the Caermersklooster Cultural Center, a retrospective on Bergman and also the "Film Music Works of art: Maestros of Suspense" concert, that will occur at P Bijloke Music Focus on March. 12Fest's full program is going to be introduced on Sept. 28.
