Toronto 2011: IFC Films Takes 'Your Sister's Sister' for North America, Latin America

Shelton's film, also starring Rosemarie DeWitt and Mark Duplass and produced by Steven Schardt, sparked keen interest among U.S. buyers following its premiere at the Toronto Film Festival. IFC Films will release the film in the summer of 2012. All told, the U.S. and various territories amounted to a $1.5 million price tag. There, he meets up with the woman's half sister, who also is nursing a wounded heart. But their encounter takes an unexpected turn that first night, only to have Blunt's character show up the next morning. The deal for the film was negotiated by Arianna Bocco, senior vice president of acquisitions & productions for Sundance Selects/IFC Films, with Submarine and UTA Independent Film Group on behalf of the filmmakers. Shelton is represented by UTA and Anonymous Content. Also on Wednesday, IFC Films announced it has acquired Toronto Midnight Madness title Incident, and North American rights to 4:44 Last Day on Earth, the latest pic from Abel Ferrara which premiered at Venice.
